The starting point: 26 hours a week I don't get back

4.5 hours daily. 26 hours a week. 1,352 hours a year — that's 56 days of life I dump into an inbox every year. Projected over five years: 281 days. Nine months of lifetime, gone. Before my first coffee is cold, I've clicked through 200 emails: investor inquiries, lead emails, internal escalations, newsletters, three sales inquiries from the US, one from Singapore. I measured this for a month. This isn't "inefficient." This is lifetime I don't get back.

I built an agent that takes over those four hours. Not the strategy. Not the difficult negotiations. The 80 percent of routine surrounding it that clutters every founder's inbox — and that ate my weekends, evenings, birthdays.

This is the accounting after 30 days — not a pitch, but a log. If it doesn't work, we'll say so.

What the agent does — and deliberately doesn't

The "CEO Nightshift Agent" runs daily from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. It reads, classifies, decides. Specifically:

The numbers after 30 days

Metric Value
Emails processed6,214
Of which auto-replied (drafts)1,873 (30.1%)
Escalations on the table each morning87
Misclassified41 (0.66%)
Total cost (LLM + hosting)€218.40
Lifetime back94 hours

The most important number isn't in the table: €218 gave me 94 hours of lifetime back. That's €2.32 per hour I didn't burn in an inbox. Four full days in which I slept, worked, lived — instead of sorting. You can calculate what your hour is worth yourself. You won't land on €2.32.

€218 in machine costs. 94 hours of lifetime. €2.32 per hour back. Calculable like a formula.

What we got wrong — and had to correct

In week 1, the agent twice replied to an investor email that had been misclassified as "newsletter." Both replies were technically correct — but from the investor's perspective: an automatic three-liner where a personal reply belonged. We didn't respond by making the agent "smarter." We tightened the escalation thresholds. Today a single keyword like Series, Term Sheet, or LOI is enough — and the email lands directly, flagged red, on the morning stack.

That's the lesson I give every mid-sized company introducing agents: an agent that admits when it's unsure beats ten agents that want to do everything. If it doesn't work, we'll say so — before you run two weeks into it.

What you take away from this — and how to start

An agent doesn't replace you. It replaces the activities you'd regret hiring yourself for, if you look honestly at your calendar. The difference between an inbox that holds 200 emails and an inbox pipeline that pre-sorts, answers, and reduces those 200 emails to 6 real escalations is calculable. In hours. In days. In lifetime.

If you know which four email types eat 80% of your daily processing time in your company, the agent for that is a 14-day setup. If you don't know, that's exactly where we start: measure, categorize, then automate. In that order — not the other way around. You stay in control, we build.

We don't sell trials or demo tricks. We sell a strategy call in which we do the math with you — your email volumes, your reply patterns, your escalation thresholds. By the end of the call you'll know how many hours of lifetime a CEO Nightshift Agent gives you back per month — 30, 100, or none at all. If it's not a fit for you, we'll say so.
